DESCRIPTION: Ordered, nested capsules similar in morphology to individual
Celliforma but in a compact grouping, where all cells share a common wall.
BEHAVIOR(S): Calichnia, reproduction.
ENVIRONMENTAL SETTINGS: A wide range of continental settings in all soil types, with the exception of swamps and lakes. These traces occur in the vadose (unsaturated) zone above the water table.
POSSIBLE TRACEMAKERS: Bees, bee-like insects; exhibit subsocial to social behavior.
GEOLOGIC RANGE: Triassic to recent.
REMARKS: Each cell in a nest likely contained pollen, fungi, and/or spores on which an egg was laid; the egg would hatch and feed off of the provisions in the cell.
