Rosselia (Dahmer, 1937)


DESCRIPTION: Conical to irregular, funnel-shaped, vertical, concentric burrow with a central cylindrical pencil-thick tube.

BEHAVIOR(S): Domichnia (dwelling).

ENVIRONMENTAL SETTINGS: Found in shallow marine sublittoral to shelf deposits.

POSSIBLE TRACEMAKERS: Polychaete worms, vermiform organism.

GEOLOGIC RANGE: Cambrian-recent

REMARKS: May be confused with Asterosoma, or a coprolite if the bulbous part is eroded and redeposited.
